Lewis Hamilton may be used to the Formula 1 racetrack, but he’s no stranger to the red carpet either. He’s become a fashion icon in his own right, and is now set to start his own fashion label.
He’s in pole position for some summer 2016 fashion. Topshop is proving a hit with celebrities, with DJ Nick Grimshaw bringing out his own range with Topman this year and Beyoncé recently confirming she will be collaborating with Topshop next year.
Lewis caused controversy earlier this year when he was thrown out of the Royal Box at Wimbledon for his snappy dress wear, but he’s having the last laugh as he announces his new retail range. The 30-year-old was in attendance at the British Fashion Awards, showing off some of his latest gear.
A source told the Mirror: “Lewis takes fashion very seriously and so there is no way he would put his name to a brand if he did not have a huge input in the design process.
“That’s why he likes the idea of collaborating with Topman. It’s a brand he’s already a fan of, but it would allow him the creative freedom to make some bold outfits. Sir Philip thinks he would be a perfect fit. They’re talking very seriously about doing something together.”
Jack Whitehall also had his say on Lewis’ fashion trends at the awards. The 27-year-old comedian quipped: “Lewis Hamilton, man responsible for some of the boldest looks in 2015. I always think of speed when I look at him – now there’s a guy who got dressed quickly.”
Luxe Models recommend you don’t try some of Lewis’ clothes if you’re on your way to Centre Court, but they’re certainly set to hit the headlines in 2016, much like they did this year. Hamilton’s range is set for release in the middle of next year.
