Sure, the internet; YouTube, Twitter, E-Magazines, Blogs, Facebook – is the perfect breeding ground for those in the fashion industry, or those looking to make their big break. Luxe Models use a variety of platforms every day to help push ourselves online. But how did a YouTube fashion Vlogger take the lead from digital to physical, and transform a popular YouTube channel into a record breaking book?
Zoe Sugg, aka Zoella, is a 24 year old English fashion and beauty vlogger, and for the past 5 years Zoe has been posting advice on clothes, make up, accessories and more to her ever-popular YouTube channel.
From quick and easy hairstyles, to summer make up choices, Zoe’s YouTube channel has grown massively in the past few years and now has over 6 million subscribers and hundreds of videos.
Although her vlogging career has before a worldwide success, Zoe has recently turned her attention to other exploits. Growing her Zoella brand and skyrocketing her career, the 24 year old fashion icon has recently made the jump to the world of hardbacks, with the release of her debut novel ‘Girl Online’.
The book, which tells the story of Penny, a blogger who falls in love when she moves to New York – is no doubt drawn from some of Zoe’s own experiences. And perhaps that’s why so many have fallen in love with ‘Girl Online’.
Zoe’s book has become the fastest selling debut novel since records began. It sold more than 75,000 copies in one week – which is more than Harry Potter and 50 Shades of Grey.
“I’m Legit Blown Away”
Zoe came to Twitter to express her joy, saying:
“I’m legit blown away by this. I never in a million years thought that so many of you would pick up a copy of Girl Online. Almost wanna cry..”
So, clearly, blogging pays! Here’s to Zoe, and ‘Girl Online’ – we can’t wait for our copy to turn up now!
